Non-Exclusive
A non-exclusive license is where you choose any existing design of mine to be manufactured by the printer of your choice, and sold as finished goods in one category. This licence allows you to use one of my designs for your business but I will hold the copyright of the design. The design may also be licensed non-exclusively to other companies at the same time and will continue to be available for other companies to use concurrently through a non-exclusive license. People will be able to purchase the design from websites it is listed (i.e. Society6 and Spoonflower) and print the design onto their own products.
You do not need a license to sell finished goods you have made with fabric purchased from Spoonflower or any other retailers that I have the design listed - Only for manufacturing products with your own chosen companies.

Exclusive
Usage terms for an exclusive license are negotiated and agreed upon by all parties before any design work commences.
As the designer, I retain the right to use the design during the licensing period for any other purpose not specified in the licensing agreement; for example, if you have exclusively licensed a design for Baby Clothing, then I may also license the design within a different category such as Wallpaper or Women’s Apparel. I will be able to continue creating other designs with similar content during the licensing period.
At the end of the term, you will be able to renew the license if you wish. If you decide not to re-license, then the rights to the design revert back to me.

FAQ'S
What is Art Licensing?
Art licensing is a legal agreement that allows companies to use an artist’s designs on products. You can license my designs either non-exclusively or exclusively, depending on your needs, for categories like clothing, stationery, home décor, and more.
Can I custom your design for my brand?
Yes, you can. I offer custom design services, including color variations, scale changes and pattern modifications to match your brand aesthetic. Custom designs can be licensed exclusively or non-exclusively depending on your needs.
How do I license one of your designs?
To request a license, simply fill out the licensing enquiry form. We will review your request and guide you through the next steps — whether you’re choosing an existing design or starting a custom project.
What is the diffence between Non-exclusive and Exclusive licensing?
Non-exclusive: Multiple companies can use the same design simultaneously. The design remains available for other brands and online retailers like Print-On-Demand fabric or wallpaper sites like Spoonflower.
Exclusive: You get exclusive use of a design within a specific product category and for an agreed period of time. Stacey Mc Carney retains the copyright and may license the design for other categories unless you request a full exclusivity agreement that covers all product categories.
How much does licensing a design cost?
Pricing will depend on the type of license (exclusive or non-exclusive), the product category, and the intended usage across product types and units. Enquire via the licensing form to discuss your project and receive a quote.
